‘Blessed are those who have the old with them’ goes an old saying. Today, it is ironical that old people are considered a burden and so left at old age home neglected & desolate. New generation is becoming more materialistic & their attitude towards parents is changing. Therefore, to inculcate the sense of social responsibility among young students as they are the future. The school had organised a visit to the old age home under HELPAGE CLUB & adopt a ‘Grand Parent’. The students spent thought provoking moments with the inmates of the old age home. They were very hospitable & friendly & welcomed everyone with their beautiful smiles. The visit rejuvenated their dropping spirits & filled the old hearts with joy & content. Their cheerfulness was reflected on their faces. Many of them forgot, for a moment, the sorrows of their hearts & fatigue of their body. The students presented cards & some gifts to them and shared the woeful experiences of the inmates. Though the visit was for a couple of hours with them but it encouraged the students to undertake such visits after as it would help them to mould into a good human being. The visit was an epiphany. Each student was determined to obdurately stand by their parents, through thick and thin.
